I created this blog so that I can share my opinions, my favorite topics, my life and my journey through life when I was a child, teenager, a single woman, in love, as a mama, and now a widow. But despite everything, Life MUST go on, and let's stay surviving it, with God's grace. :)

Most emotional and touchy performance on X Factor (Emmanuel)

A touching story of two boys born in the middle of a war zone in Iraq. Both boys were adopted by an Australian woman. A hero, an angel. God bless people like her who have so much love to give.

Asthma Attacks

My personal experience for my son. When it is the season that triggers asthma, like beginning of another season, I control his chicken, dairy and food with preservative intakes. I give him more calamansi juice and as much as possible, let him stay in an environment that is not too hot nor not too cold. Airconditioning units are a great help during summer. When its the rainy season, I try to keep him warm by closing some windows. Hope this article helps most of you mothers! Stay healthy. My son is 17 years old now, and I think he outgrew his mild asthma. Though he still uses his puffs maybe once a year now...

How Is Asthma Treated and Controlled?

Asthma is a long-term disease that has no cure. The goal of asthma treatment is to control the disease. Good asthma control will:
  • Prevent chronic and troublesome symptoms, such as coughing and shortness of breath
  • Reduce your need for quick-relief medicines (see below)
  • Help you maintain good lung function
  • Let you maintain your normal activity level and sleep through the night
  • Prevent asthma attacks that could result in an emergency room visit or hospital stay

The day I met my husband (a widow's thought)

25 years ago today, May 2, I met a man that would change my life. Who gave me a better understanding of what unconditional love is, taught me how to survive (physically and financially) for the sake of my loved ones, gave me the positivity to keep me going while he is the one who is sick (so contradicting, don't you think?), and most of all, he gave me my only son. If I could only go inside my heart, I would, because he IS inside it....

Mother-Daughter (and Grandma too!) Bracelets

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.

What to do with your Burdens

I have been feeling so low lately. I have a burden which I usually share with my husband. But since he is gone, I have no one to share this with. I just cry alone at home, read and browse the internet, read all the inspirational words that I can find, and do my usual chores at home. Funny how my family and friends see that I am always okay. They say I handle my problems well. If they just know how I cry inside my room….

This afternoon, while still feeling depressed, I saw a post in my Google+ home page from Maria Pena. It says,

The Courage to Keep Going
Do you want to give up on your marriage, job, children, financial situation, or other personal struggle? We often feel tempted to quit when we’re in the middle of such difficult circumstances, but giving up is not consistent with who we are as followers of Jesus Christ. In this message, Dr. Stanley shares how the apostle Paul is a perfect example of someone who never gave up in spite of persistent difficulty and hardship.”

I felt as though a cold water was poured over me and woke me up. From this, I then went to Dr. Stanley’s radio messages and listened to one of his sermons about “burdens”. God really has his own ways of talking to His children. Sometimes, even if we knew that all must be surrendered to Him, and give Him our full Trust,

And this, is how I handle everything.

Search for His words. God uses someone or something to send a message to you. Open your heart and listen well… Be assured that ….. God Loves You!

The Name Lives On

This made me cry buckets! Never was I so touched by any song like this. I can relate well, with all the trials, happiness, life events, and all the things that my family has been through, He was always present, always beside me and not letting go of my hands. Enjoy and feel the message. Happy Sunday to everyone.

Taking much of my "me"-time

January is almost over and I haven't written anything here yet. I have been busy lately, since last month to be exact. with one of my past-time "therapeutic" interests. I've been watching youtube tutorials, reading, surfing the net on all things that interests me. Of course, that is, when I don't have work, which is almost 2 days in a week, more or less. I don't go out window shopping anymore because that also adds to my "extra" expenses. I tend to buy some things that are "second to priority". I just go out when I need, take note, "NEED" to buy some important things for the house or for my son's architecture materials. I just have to practice this way so I can save, save, save!

Anyway, this "therapeutic past-time" was my project last Christmas. I made them as my gift to all the girls in the family and to my friends. As it was my first time, I told them that if ever it breaks, I will replace it and it's under lifetime warranty. hehehe....I feel so happy in creating these designs that when I have designed it beautifully, I feel that I have given birth to a new baby. I know I still have a lot of improvement to make but I see to it that I learn new things, explore and create new designs. Some of you might be able to relate to what I am saying......

Here it is, my "babies" :)

One song

Thank God for my fellow widows, I can always feel that I am not the only one feeling this and they can express it so well, like, it really is, coming from my heart!

I am reblogging this. Liked this post so much.

“A song can take you back instantly to a moment, or a place, or even a person. No matter what else has changed in you or the world, that one song stays the same, just like that moment. Which is pretty amazing, when you actually think about it.” -Sarah Dessen

This Monday will mark our 8 year wedding anniversary.
As I've said over the years, I've never defined Michael's life by his death, so the anniversary of his death has never had the burn of the day that symbolizes him and our time together...

Our wedding day.
A day that symbolizes our love.
His love.
The unconditional love he showed myself and everyone else.

The pain and angst enveloped me at times, but one thing always takes me away from any sadness that wears on my soul:
Hearing our wedding song.

He let me choose it, and when the time came for our first dance, we swayed (mostly due to lack of dancing skills) back and forth, lost in the moment, tunnel vision only into each others eyes and the warm glow of our hearts melding even deeper into their eternal bond.

After his death, a year and a half later, the words of the song have guided me through dark moments.

They've reminded me that everything that I've been able to do, survive and embrace, has been built upon his love...his kiss. And I'll keep on building.

Happy Anniversary, my love. SILWY
Give me a kiss to build a dream on And my imagination will thrive upon that kiss
Ah sweetheart, I ask no more than this A kiss to build a dream on

My Christmas tree's Evolution

Ever since I got married, I have always been excited for Christmas. Decorating the house, thinking of gifts that my loved ones will really appreciate, what food to prepare and all the parties to attend.

One of the first sign that Christmas in my household has begun is when the Christmas tree is up. I usually put it up every November 30, since it is a non-working day.

Here are some of my Christmas tree decorations:

Sunday mornings - Chasing after your Dream

Chasing after your Dream, at the Right Time. Never hurry your growth and enjoy the journey.

Receive your prosperity

God is giving you blessings and you tell yourself you are not worthy of blessings, you are poor, you are small.  (Small thinking. "I'm not worthy", "I don't derserve this") Do understand that when God blesses you, it is not for you but it is for someone else. Accept it. Be responsible for it. Give and share it to others. 1% are called to the vow of poverty (nuns, priests, etc.) 99% are called for prosperity and that is, US. Be generous of your blessings.

Respect your pace

Do you want more and more and more. Be patient with your progress. Do not hurry with your growth. It is easier to grow. But it is difficult to grow at the right pace. Not all growth is good. Know when to grow and when not to grow. If you're working and working and your health suffers, stop. Because it is a sign from God to take it easy. If you're family is suffering because of what you are doing, stop.

Pace and pride can tell you the same message. "You can do it, nothing is impossible!" Pride is the partner of greed. Enough for now. No to short-term growth so you can say yes to long-term growth.

Return to the Provider

Pace yourself because i need to go back and return to your provider. Run and run chasing their gifts, not realizing they have to get back to God. In your pursuit to your dreams, you need to return to your Provider. Chase after God and not only chase your goal.

Dream big dreams. Pray bold prayers. Live a great life.

Sunday mornings - DREAM

It's a nice cool Sunday today. The sun hiding behind the clouds. Clouds are heavy, almost wanting to release the rain. Here is another Sunday morning post.

Imagination is so powerful. When you imagine, it sends instructions to the whole universe. Dream. So that you will be inspired everyday to wake up and work your way to your dreams.

When you are single and wants to get married, ask God for it and be specific. Don't just pray, "Lord, I want to marry Piolo Pascual." Just joking. Hehehehe. Be sociable. Attend church and sports activities, or whatever that interests you. Start from there.

Have details because it animates you. Use details to energize and surrender it to God. But don't be attached to your details. God knows what is BEST for you.

And, remember, to dream, not only for material things, but also, dream with your family. Dream that you enjoy your material blessings with the family which is the only reason why you are dreaming!

Start planting your dreams now... WORK, BELIEVE and TRUST.

Look Younger this Christmas Season

We are almost ending November and I haven't written any post for a few weeks now. Busy learning some things that I will share with you sometime soon. Despite all the tragedies that happened to our country, there will still be Christmas after all.

This is dedicated to all the mommies out there who wants to look more beautiful this season.

Do you want to look (and feel) younger? Oh, I can almost hear everyone saying a big YES!
An ageless beauty, fresher face? Make up and the right dress style can make it possible.

Here are some of the tips I am applying for my self.

1. No to cakey foundation. Use light base liquid foundation, with spf as much as possible.

2. No to smokey eyes. Use light-colored eyeshadow. Cream, beige. Without shimmer, in order to lessen wrinkles. Emphasize and contour eyelids. Brush darker shadow on top of eyeballs.

3. If you have hollow cheekbones, no need to contour.

4. Thicker eyebrows make you look younger, and thin brows ake you look older.

5. Use eyepencils instead of liquid liners.

6. Use yellow powder undertones

7. Use a lighter-colored, natural, or rose pink-colored lipstick,

8. Curl lashes and put on mascara

Outfits:

1. No to tight-fitting outfits. Use belt for distraction and don't be afraid to use color combinations.

2. Focus on your sexy factor or assets, and flaunt it!

3. Wear knee length skirt and NO to below the knee, or you will look like a "lola"

If you have your own tip, please share it with us. Who knows, it might also work for some of us. Let's show the world that mommies can also be "head-turners.".

Remember to smile!
